Businessman gets day’s jail, RM15,000 fine for taking RM3,000 bribe

KANGAR: A businessman was jailed a day and fined RM15,000 in default eight months jail by the Sessions Court here today after he pleaded guilty to accepting a bribe of RM3,000 in 2015.

Judge Azman Abu Hassan ordered Zamberi Radin Yusoff, 51, to serve the jail sentence today.

The accused paid the fine.

Zamberi was found guilty of accepting the bribe money at a restaurant in Behor Pulai here at 7pm on April 24, 2015, as an inducement to “settle” a police investigation into a male friend of his.
