KUCHING: Two customers got more than they bargained for while refueling at a petrol station at Kuching-Samarahan Expressway on Monday night after they were bowled over by an out-of-control lorry.

The customers, a motorcyclist and a motorist, were on the opposite sides of the same refuelling kiosk when the lorry, refuelling at an adjacent kiosk, suddenly lurched forward, colliding into both men and knocking down the kiosk.

Video footage obtained from the station’s security cameras, which went viral on social media and WhatsApp, showed both men picking themselves up after the 7.30pm incident.

It is believed the pair suffered minor scrapes from the incident, although the motorist’s car sustained rear damage after being rammed by the lorry.

A number of netizens speculated that the lorry driver might have mistakenly stepped on the accelerator but the actual cause of the incident was unclear.

as were the damages suffered by the petrol station.
