Four teens motorcycles thieves arrested

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: East Banjarmasin criminal investigation police arrested four teenagers or abege for being perpetrators of motor vehicles theft (curanmor), AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“The four are still minors. We caught them when they were riding stolen motorcycles,” said East Banjaramsin Sector Police Chief Commissioner Dese Yulianti here on Thursday.

The four underagers were captured simultaneously in predawn around 2:15 on Thursday at Gang H Arsad, Jalan Veteran, East Banjarmasin.

They are known with initials KWM (17), vocational school student, a resident of Jalan Sukamara, Landasan Ulin, Banjarbaru, MRH (17) and NRM (18), also vocational school students, resident of Jalan Veteran. Then MHZ (17), a resident of Sungai Bilu, East Banjarmasin.

Chief police said chronology of arrests began when mobile detective police (Buser) of Criminal Investigation Unit on patrol related to loss of motorcycles. When passing on the scene, police saw four actors on two motorcycles, but on vehicle was being dragged.

When police approached, some tried to escape and the police chased them. Not long after two perpetrators were caught, when police intercepted.

“We interrogated the perpetrators then we found seven motorcycles allegedly were the result of theft hidden in a warehouse in the area of Sungai Lulut,” said the veiled woman.

The four underages and evidence have been secured in East Banjarmasin Sector Police for examination and further legal proceedings.

“The four have been arrested and charged under Article 363 of the Criminal Code on theft,” he said.
