KUCHING: The Women’s sections of Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Pending and SUPP Batu Lintang are jointly organising the Little Miss Cheongsam contest which will be held at Sarawak Plaza Shopping Complex this Sunday.
SUPP Pending Women Section organising secretary Kho Teck Wan said that the contest is sponsored by Sarawak Plaza together with Riverside Shopping Complex and is open to girls aged 7 to 12.
“The contestants will be divided into two categories, with Category A for girls aged between 7 and 9 years old and Category B for girls aged between 10 and 12 years old,” she said at a press conference at SUPP headquarters here yesterday.
“There will also be a Miss Popular Category where the result will be based on votes by the audience during the contest,” she added.
Kho explained that contestants in Category A will be judged based on appearance, modelling style and stage interview where each contestant will be asked two or three simple questions.
Meanwhile, contestants in Category B will be judged based on appearance, modelling style and stage performance.
Kho also disclosed that the prizes for the various winners of the Little Miss Cheongsam contest consist of a sash and tiara, and that there will be a lucky draw offering movie tickets for the audience to win as well.
She said all are welcome to join them at the venue from noon onwards to cheer and vote for their favourite contestant.
