KUCHING: The 3rd Utusan Borneo Cup Futsal Tournament scheduled to be held at Sports Planet Demak (Feb 18-19) has been postponed to Feb 25-26, due to the by-election for the Tanjung Datu seat following the demise of chief minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem on Jan 11.
Teams interested in joining the tournament can obtain forms in the Utusan Borneo starting from yesterday, or register via forms available at Sports Planet Demak.
Lucrative prizes are up for grabs, with the total prize money of RM6,700, trophy and medals. Winner in the Men’s Open shall receive RM2,000, first runners-up RM1,500 and joint third place RM500 each while Boys’ U12 champions will get RM1,000, RM600 and joint third RM300 each.
The tournament is divided into two categories, Men’s Open (Entry fee is RM150 per team) and Boys’ U12 (RM80 per team). Completed forms with entry fee can be sent to the Utusan Borneo office at 2nd Floor, Crown Towers, Jalan Pending or Sports Planet Demak.
Closing date is Feb 15 while the draw is on Feb 16.
