PUTRAJAYA: Student applications for entry into public universities, polytechnics, community colleges and public skills training institutes for the 2017/2018 academic session will be open on Feb 6 at noon through the UPUOnline System at http://upu.mohe.gov.my
In a statement issued yesterday, the Ministry of Higher Education said the applications for Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Universiti Malaya (UM) for those with Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) qualifications or equivalent could also be done through the UPUOnline System.
Applicants must purchase a unique ID number priced at RM15.64 including the goods and services tax from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) from Feb 6 before submitting their applications.
“The ID number can be purchased at the BSN counter and in the case of GIRO account holders, they can be bought at the automated teller machines (ATM) and through BSN Online.
“For future reference, please keep the payment slips as proof of purchase,” it said.
The ministry also said the sale of the unique ID numbers at BSN will be closed on March 30 while the UPUOnline System will be closed at 11.59pm on March 31. — Bernama
