KOTA SAMARAHAN: Aiman Mall, tagged as Samarahan’s first-ever halal shopping mall, is expected to open this April, with other side activities scheduled to be held in conjunction with the opening ceremony.

According to Aiman Mantap Sdn Bhd chairman Samat Othman, the event organisers are also expecting Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg to officiate at the ceremony, scheduled at 10am this April 22 at the mall.

The side activities will include performances by Indonesian ‘dangdut’ singer Lisa Rochmilayali who goes by the stage name Lissa V (April 22), the opening of a children’s playpark, and the ‘Samarahan Pentagon Challenge’ half-marathon (April 23).

Half-marathon organisers Asajaya Community and Sports Club and Muara Tuang Fitness Club are expecting 1,500 people to participate in the run.

Commenting on Aiman Mall, Samat said its halal concept meant that all products and offerings at the mall would be syariah-compliant – from setup, procurement and manufacturing up to sales.

“We are proud to come out with the concept and we believe that it will become a landmark for Kota Samarahan. For us, the construction of this mall is indeed a brand new suburb mall in the making,” he said.

Samat was part of a group at the mall’s construction site to inspect the progress of the project recently.

Meanwhile, Aiman Mantap Sdn Bhd managing director Lee Chin Teck disclosed that six to eight shoplot units at Aiman Mall are still available for booking.
