MIRI: Single ladies born between 1990 to 1996 here are urged to participate in the free Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination programme which is ongoing until the end of this year.

The programme is open to Malaysian citizens born within the stated years who have never been married and have not obtained HPV vaccinations.

The vaccination programme is available at Klinik Nur Sejahtera located at Piasau Commercial Centre here (behind the food court). The clinic under the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) is open Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 5pm (except on public holidays).

The registration fee for the said programme is RM15 per person.

Meanwhile, those born in 1989 or earlier are also entitled to the vaccination programme at a government subsidised rate of RM180 per dose. The programme will have three doses.

HPV vaccinations prevent cervical cancer and the three doses must be undertaken within a period of six months.

Those who meet the criteria mentioned above are urged to take advantage of the programme. For more information, members of the public may contact the clinic at 085- 491170 during office hours.

Apart from HPV vaccinations, Klinik Nur Sejahtera provide other services such as health screening, family planning and fertility treatments, counselling and Pap smear test.
