Zahid in town for three-day visit

KUCHING: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Zahid Hamidi arrived at the Kuching International Airport (KIA) last night for a three-day official visit to the state.

He was met on arrival by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Sim Khui Hian and Public Utilities Minister Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi.

Today, Zahid is expected to attend the Chinese New Year open house of Dr Sim, declare open Masjid Al-Abyad in Matang Jaya and officiate at a Chinese New Year gathering of The People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) at a leading hotel here.

Tomorrow, he is scheduled to lead Barisan Nasional at the nomination for the

Tanjong Datu by-election before returning to Kuala Lumpur the same day.
