KUALA LUMPUR: Pahang maintained their lead in the Super League after edging Sarawak 1-0 at Stadium Negeri Petra Jaya, Kuching on Saturday.

The solitary goal by their Nigerian import Chinedu Bright Ezendu Dike in the 25th minute was good enough for a second win in three matches for The Elephants.

Meanwhile, Perak jumped to second spot after edging Melaka United 3-2 at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh.

Though playing without supporters in the stadium, they were on target thrice with Mohd Nazrin Nawi putting the hosts ahead in the 30th minute while their other goals were netted by Yashir Pinto (63rd) and Vladislav Mitkov Mirchev in added time.

Melaka United’s goals were supplied by Jeon Woo-young (43rd) and Izzaq Faris Ramlan (78th).

Perak have been ordered to play three matches without the presence of fans by the FA of Malaysia for unruly fan behaviour when they hosted Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) at the same venue on Aug 6 last year.

Kedah moved up a spot to third place despite playing to a 1-1 draw against Felda United at Stadium Tun Abdul Razak, Jengka.

Ken Ilso Larsen had put Kedah ahead in the 23rd minute but Muhammad Hadin Azman equalised for ‘The Fighters’ in the 57th minute.

At the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu, T-Team edged Penang 1-0 with Mamadou Samassauad emerging the hero when he scored in the 70th minute.

At the Shah Alam Stadium, Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh scored a hattrick for PKNS FC en route to their 5-3 victory against “elder brothers” Selangor.Patrick scored in the 20th, 42nd and 57th minutes while their two other goals were contributed by Mohd Safee Sali (24th) and Matias Hadwa (47th).

The Red Giants’ goals were netted by Muhammad Syahmi Safari in the 1st minute and Francis Forkey Doe (27th, 54th).

Selangor had to play with 10 men from the 71st minute after Mohd Raimi Mohd Nor picked up a second yellow card.

The match between JDT and Kelantan scheduled to be played at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu tonight, has been postponed to a date yet to be determined because JDT are due to play against Japanese side Gamba Osaka in the Asian Champions League this Tuesday. — Bernama
