Semawi sworn in as DUN secretary, Sharifah Shazzea as deputy secretary

KUCHING: Semawi Mohamad was sworn in as the State Legislative Assembly (DUN)  secretary before the Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and his deputy Datuk Gerawat Gala yesterday.

Semawi, 46 , was senior assistant director at the Human Resources Management Unit from 2000-2013 before he joined the State Monitoring and Implementation Unit of the Chief Minister Department in the last  five years.

Hailed from Kabong, he graduated from University of Malaya with Bachelor in Syariah (Laws/Politics and Administration) and later obtained a Master degree in Human Resource and Management from Swinburne University of Technology.

He also received a Certificate in Excellence Service Delivery from The Royal Institute of Public Administration, London, United Kingdom in 2008.

Also sworn-in yesterday  was the deputy secretary Sharifah Shazzea Akil who hails from Kuching.

Before the appointment, Shazzea was with the Sarawak State Attorney-General’s Office.
