Senior citizens praised for promoting religious harmony and unity

SERIAN: Members of the Catholic Senior Citizens Fellowship (CSCF) of St Theresa’s Parish Council here have been commended for their excellent team work in promoting religious harmony and unity among the local community.

Parish Rector cum Spiritual director of CSCF Rev Fr Paul Herry said such efforts were essential towards ensuring that the people would continue to live in peace and harmony, when addressing members at its council meeting held at the church’s hall here recently.

The meeting was attended by Parish Council chairman cum advisor of CSCF Dennis Sung, chairman CSCF Jenner Menggu, vice chairman CSCF Alphonsus Naming, Secretary Tom Na’ar and other committee members. Naming briefed the meeting on the activities of CSCF in assisting the parish such as providing choir services for wedding and funeral masses; visits to the sick and the poor to enrich love and care for the needy.

CSCF was formed in Nov 2009 with only eight members and has increased to 30 members as of last December.

Naming urged senior citizens of the parish to join as members so as to enhance happiness and fellowship in their retiring age.
