St Joseph’s Family of Schools is set to stage an original historical musical drama called ‘The White Rajah of Sarawak’ in August.

KUCHING: An original historical musical drama called ‘The White Rajah of Sarawak’ will be staged by St Joseph’s Family of Schools in August this year.

According to a press release, the original script and music score brings to life Sarawak in the 1800s when James Brooke sailed up the river in ‘The Royalist’.

History comes alive in bustling street scenes, court proceedings and a rebellion, to name a few. Tension, conflict, comic and heart -wrenching scenes are complemented by an orchestra, showcasing the original script, music and songs written by staff members of St Joseph’s Private School.

The success of the staging of Shakespeare’s  ‘The Tempest’ in 2015 and the variety concert, ‘Rhythm and Colour’ in 2016 has motivated staff and students to pursue the schools’ mission to develop interest, appreciation and involvement in the performing arts.

More details on dates and ticket sales will be available in the coming months.
