SEPANG: Security at all entry points, particularly international airports, will not be compromised in providing the best service to visitors, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also Home Minister, said the ministry and departments and agencies under its jurisdiction would give focus and priority to security at airports.

Joint patrols by the police and Malaysian Armed Forces as well as sophisticated assets and support equipment were two important aspects to ensure security at airports, he said.

He was launching the KUL VIP Access facility at the KL International Airport here yesterday. Also present were Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali.

Ahmad Zahid said many departments and agencies operated at KLIA and the staff could not work in a cocoon and resort to silo thinking.

The Royal Malaysia Police and Immigration Department as well as related agencies would continue to assist MAHB step up security at airports, he said. — Bernama
