MIRI: A 38-year-old man injured his leg when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a vehicle in Krokop here on Sunday evening.

The motorcyclist was on his way from Krokop towards the city centre when he was hit by a vehicle around 7.30pm. It is believed that the vehicle, coming from the opposite direction, was making a turn into a junction when the incident occurred.

The impact caused the victim to be thrown from his motorcycle. Paramedics summoned to the scene later transported him to Miri Hospital in an ambulance.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated accident, a 55-year-old housewife escaped unhurt when the car she was driving landed in a ditch near Kampung Haji Wahed here yesterday.

The victim, from Pujut Padang Kerbau, was on her to a market in the city centre around 8am when she lost control of the car. It is believed that the woman’s car skidded due to the slippery road condition at that time.
