MIRI: Members of the public have been warned to look out for imposters posing as Laku enforcement staff.
In a press release yesterday, Laku Management Sdn Bhd said it received a report last week of an imposter demanding for immediate payment from the foreman of a construction site here in return for not taking action on alleged water theft.
The imposter was reportedly wearing a safety vest bearing the Laku logo.
Laku Management called on the public to lodge a police report or contact the Laku office immediately if approached by any individual claiming to be Laku staff asking for payment of any kind.
It reminded the public that payments of all bills and compounds issued by Laku can only be made at payment counters in Laku’s office or the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC).
“Laku staff are not authorised to receive any payment on behalf of the company from anyone, except those working at the payment counters in Laku office and UTC during counter office opening hours,” added the statement.
