SIBU: Esther Tiong scored a double victory in a table tennis competition organised by Sibu Ping Pong Association which concluded Sunday.
Esther won first place in Girls’ Under-18 and Girls’ Under-15 categories. Second in the Girls’ Under-18 was Sia Hsiao Ling, followed by Sia Hsiao Fong, third. For the Girls’ Under-15, second place went to Su Siew Ling with Sia Hsiao Ling, third.
In Boys’ Under-18 action, Lee Yee Jat came first, followed by Wong Khing Yieu and Simeon Kwang Qing Ming placing third. You Min, Su Kwong Sing and Lee Yee Jat were first, second and third placed winners respectively in the Boys’ Under-15 event.
The two-day tournament was held at Sibu Ping Pong Association at Merdeka Road here and sponsored by Success Sunworld Sdn Bhd.
Success Sunworld representative Ling Tzer Sheng presented prizes to the winners. Also present were Sibu PPA secretary Desmond Ling and coach Kong Tuong Sing. — by Conny Banji
