Anaz wins Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia 2017

SIBU: Anaz Dzulkefflee of  Kuala Lumpur was crowned ‘Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia 2017’ at the prestigious ‘Bachelor of Malaysia’ pageant held at a hotel here on Saturday.

The 22-year-old received a cash prize of RM3,500, Giraffe Shoe products, formalwear by Official Designer, casual wear by Bobby Brian Collections, a sash and a trophy.

Anaz, who works on ground operations for an airline, said he never expected to win the title because the other contestants were equally good – if not even better.

“However, ‘Alhamdulillah’ (Praise to Allah) – I was awarded with the prestigious title of Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia 2017.

“I dedicate this win to my beloved family, colleagues and friends as well as all those who have given me their precious moral support and advice,” he said.

As Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia 2017, Anaz will compete in the Mister Universal Ambassador pageant to be held in Dallas, Texas in the US by end of August.

Meanwhile, the Mister National Malaysia 2017 title (Bachelor of Malaysia first runner-up) was grabbed by a Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student from Sabah, Nigelvan Daniel.

The 22-year-old took home RM2,500, Giraffe Shoe products, formal wear by Official Designer, casual wear by Bobby Brian Collections, a sash and trophy.

As Mister National Malaysia 2017, Nigelvan will compete in the Mister National Universe competition to be held in Thailand this June 5 to 14.

The second runner-up for Bachelor Of Malaysia was Kian Ching, also from Sabah.

The 23-year-old received RM1,500, Giraffe shoes and a trophy.

The winners of the subsidiary titles are David Abraham (Most Popular), Javenson Serit (Congeniality), Daniel Tsu

(Best Model), Hardy Saiful (B.O.M Icon Award), Borneo Republic Creation (Best National Costume), Kian Ching (Best in Speech), Anaz (Best in Fitness), Alif Asyraf (Best Body Ifit) and Nigelvan (Photogenic Award).

Of the 12 finalists, five are from Kuala Lumpur, four from Sarawak and three from Sabah.

The event was also attended by Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia 2016 Jason Ganesan, Malaysia’s representative to Mister World 2016 Yusuf Tony, Miss International Malaysia Olivia Nicholas and Mister National Thailand Seagame Arthit Makearekash.

“A total of 12 finalists competed in the ‘Bachelor of Malaysia 2017’ finale with the guest-of-honour Sibu Rural District Council deputy chairman Robert Lau.

“The Bachelor of Malaysia is a male pageant that focuses on the discovery of the most complete man who can be a captivating role model – someone who has a good physical appearance, fluent in public speaking, well-integrated and knowledgeable about culture and tourism,” he added.

Ezrie said the winner of the pageant would be a role model and also be a national youth ambassador to promote education, creative economy, culture, healthy lifestyle and also tourism.
