KUCHING: Sarawak failed to capitalise on their chances and were forced to a 3-3 draw with Perak at Stadium Negeri, Petra Jaya on Saturday night.

Nonetheless, head coach David Usop is reasonably happy with the performance of his boys despite only collecting one point from the match.

He praised the fighting spirit of the squad who led the visitors 3-2 in the second half despite trailing 1-2 in the first half.

“We should have won the game and collected the crucial three points to improve our standings in the league table and move away from the relegation zone.

“In the first half, our players seem to do very well but they have failed to capitalise on the numerous goal-scoring chances,” said David.

He said that the 3-2 lead in the second half was a good sign that they were on their way to a vital victory but errors allowed the visitors to escape with the draw through a Abdul Hadi Yahaya goal in the 72nd minute.

Sarawak will next face Kelantan in Kuching this Saturday.
