Lorry driver killed, two injured

BELURAN: A 59-year-old lorry driver died in an accident at Bukit Ular, Km 76.9, off Jalan Nangoh-Paitan yesterday.

District police chief Superintendent Sivanathan Velautham said Ahmad bin Nongkang @ Mado was sending fertiliser from Nangoh to IOI Estate Pamol Sugut, Paitan when he lost control of the lorry while descending a hilly road and overturned by the roadside.

The victim was pinned to the seat and died instantly. Two other passengers of the lorry identified as Jeprii bin Azis, 35, and Rosli bin Ruma, 34, sustained serious injuries.

Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Department personnel extricated the deceased from the lorry.
