KUCHING: A woman was left shaken but otherwise unhurt after the car she was driving crashed into the perimeter fencing of a house early yesterday morning.

The 25-year-old from Kampung Sungai Lumut was travelling alone when the accident happened around 2am at Jalan Astana.

It is said that her vehicle went out of control and crashed into the perimeter fencing of a house by the side of the road before overturning and ending up on its roof.

The occupants of the house and other neighbouring residents came to the woman’s aid and called for an ambulance to take her to the Sarawak General Hospital, where she was given a routine medical checkup before being allowed to go home.

In an unrelated case, thieves carted away RM20,000 worth of items after breaking into a warehouse at the Pending Industrial Estate on Wednesday.

The theft was discovered around 7.30am when an employee arrived for work and saw a window connecting to the warehouse’s office had been forcibly opened.

A subsequent inspection revealed the theft of two mobile phones, a printer as well as electrical items. Police are investigating after a report of the break-in was made.
