SJK Chung Hua No. 4 lift second consecutive PASC title

KUCHING: SJK Chung Hua No.4 won the overall championship of the Power Aquatic Swimming Club (PASC) Inter-Primary School Swimming Competition for the second consecutive year after collecting 562 points at the Sarawak Aquatic Centre in Petra Jaya yesterday.

Coming in second place were Tunku Putra International School who collected 500 points while SJK Chung Hua No.2 finished third on 461 points.

SJK Chung Hua No.4 topped the boys competition while SJK Chung Hua No.2 were the girls champions.

Apart from winning the boys team and overall titles, Jonas Lau Jiang Le was named Primary Four best boy swimmer.

“We are happy to have successfully defended our crown and I would like to congratulate the school management, teachers, coaches and parents who have contributed to our success,” said SJK Chung Hua No. 4 senior assistant (co-curriculum) Lee Mui Huat.

“The other teams like Tunku Putra and SJK Chung Hua No. 2 had provided stiff challenges to our team and our swimmers have given a good account of themselves,” said Lee who hoped his school can bring home the challenge trophy next year.

Meanwhile the other best boys were Carden Minive Chin of SK Catholic English (P1), Hansel Narang Tan Zhihan of SJK Chung Hua Sungai Jernang (P2), Ong Zong Lian of SJK Sam Hap Hin (P3), Hii Puong Jie of SJK Chung Hua Batu 4 1/2 (P5) and Jotham Lau from SJK Chung Hua No. 2 (P6).

The best girls were Dabria Teo Jia Wen of SJK Chung Hua No.3 (P1), Leia Keng Ru Yue of SJK Chung Hua No.2 (P2), Vanessa Liew Xing Yi of SJK Chung Hua No. 2 (P3), Bibiene Ong Shu Yi of SJK St Paul (P4), Kelly Teo Yao of SJK Chung Hua No.2 (P5) and Hannah Serini Tan Yihui of SJK Chung Hua Sungai Jernang (P6).

Minister of Local Government Datuk Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian opened the event while Minister of Youth, Sports and Solidarity Dato Seri Michael Manyin Jawong, who is PASC patron, closed the meet and gave away the prizes.

Also present was PASC president Tan Kun Gee.
