“I hope Malaysians will continue to adhere to good moral values and ethics.

“Be honourable, knowledgeable and respectable individuals who are aware of their responsibilities to the country,” said His Majesty.

He said, at the same time people should also express full support to the strategies drawn up by the government to revive the country’s economy.

“As has been proven, the people of various races, religions, cultures and way of life can live harmoniously and with mutual respect. I hope Malaysians will continue to be united, adopt a give-and-take attitude in bearing the responsibility of a sovereign state because these are our unique features which have been our source of strength,” he said.

Sultan Muhammad V also expressed his appreciation to the government and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as well as members of the cabinet for their continued support to him in carrying out the duties and responsibilities entrusted to him.
