MIRI: The action taken by Primeworks Studios Sdn Bhd to suspend the host of ‘Sukan Tak Sentral’, Azizul Ammar Abu Hassan or better known as Ammar, has been regarded as “unfair” by former national sprinter Watson Nyambek.

According to Watson, the show’s producer Abdul Ghani Mohammad Mokhtar, was supposed to receive greater disciplinary action, not Ammar.

“I was told that prior to the show, Ammar and another host Marsha Milan Londoh had a discussion with Abdul Ghani on how they will act and what they will do during the show.

“The producer was supposed to edit the show before airing it on television. If only he took that particular part out, this would never have happened,” he said when contacted by The Borneo Post today.

Nevertheless, Watson added that Ammar should no be excluded from disciplinary action, although he understood the element of ad lib in a TV show.

“Ammar should be more alert about his actions during the show, although we understand that the producer can edit or take the insensitive part out.

“This is a very good lesson for him to learn and not to repeat it again in the future if he wants to progress in his career in the media line,” Watson said.

Watson and his wife Fellizia Michael are currently in Kuala Lumpur to film a documentary with Astro.

The police here confirmed that they have received the report lodged by Watson and have viewed video footage of the programme that had since gone viral on social media.

The case is now being investigated under section 504 of the Penal Code.

Section 504 covers intentional insult with an intent to provoke a breach of peace which is liable to a penalty of imprisonment of up to two years or a fine, or both if convicted.

The hosts and producers of the programme will be interviewed soon to wrap up the investigation, police said.
