SIBU: Military commander, 1st Division, Major General Datuk Stephen Mundaw called on Christian armed forces personnel to carry out their religious obligation to pray and strengthen their faith in God.

“This is a challenge for you all. I want all of you to carry out your religious obligation to pray,” he said after joining the army and their families from 1st Division Infantry for prayer service at the St John Church, here Thursday night.

Mundaw reminded military personnel that as defenders of the nation, they must have not only physical but mental and spiritual strength.

“Thus, it is important that we must have faith in God in order for us to have spiritual strength which we can only achieve through prayers,” he said.

Mundaw commended the military personnel and their families who turned up for the prayer service which was celebrated by the Priest in Charge of St John Church, Reverend Ramdan Mejem.
