35 junior golfers vying for MSSM slots

KUCHING: Thirty-five junior golfers including 13 girls are vying for slots in the Sarawak team for the Malaysian Schools Sports Council (MSSM) golf championship in the selection qualifying round at Kelab Golf Sarawak (KGS) today and tomorrow.

They include up and coming golfer Angel Hii and her younger brother Saxen Hii.

The selection qualifying rounds played over two days will commence at 7.34am at the Matang and Santubong Nines on staggered start.

Contenders in the boys category include Macolm Ting, Ahmad Adib Ridhwan Alhisham, Mohd Amirul Fadlan, Aiman Zuhairi Othman, Harold Tok, Sabestance Rimong, Benjamin Ethan, Muhd Aiman Al-Hakim, Giannino Foo, Adam Muzaffar Rahman, Wesley Chai, Filemon Amos Francis, Tristan Fong, Darren Tan, Elden Sim, Cayden Kong, Muhd Hadif Fathley, Anson Yeo, Mohd Dzur Kaef Shahminan, Abg Al Qayyoom and Kulleh Tajang.

Other contenders in the girls category are Sharifah Aisyah Tijan Yahya, Eliza Mae Kho, Amber Tho, Lia Rajemah Sharmaine Shah Minan, Adeline Lau, Rachel Shane Raymond, Nicole Wong, Bianca Lee and Asha Nabeela Rahman.

Some of the state top juniors are giving the selection a miss as they are preparing for their school examinations.

Categories to be competed at MSSM meet are Girls/Boys U18, U15 and U12.
