MEDIX lift Inter-Department bowling crown

KUCHING: MEDIX (Sarawak Heath Department) were crowned the new overall champions of the Megalanes Sarawak Inter-Department Tenpin Bowling Championship at Megalanes Sarawak, E-mart Batu Kawa last Sunday.

The team comprising Nurafidza Mohd Amran, Fizalyhan Sadie, Kassuma Taiwan and Abdul Muhaimin Fitri Mohamed and Dr Kamarudin Lajim registered a total score of 4,455 pinfalls in the foursome (3,025) and doubles (1,430) to receive the challenge trophy, champions’ trophy, RM500, certificates and free game vouchers.

Claiming the second overall spot were Unimas A’s Nazrin Wagiman, Shaeedun Mohd Jais, Bemen Wong Win Keong and Wagiman Kassim, Isa Kumar and Mohd Zaidil Ismail who fell 4,381 pinfalls to walk away with RM250, a trophy, medals, certificates and free game vouchers.

PDRM (Royal Malaysia Police), who were represented by Sofian Kamsani, Hipni Morni, Mohd Asyraf Samsul Hairi and Mohd Naim Bebeto Sulaiman were third on 4,354 pinfalls while defending champions RMC (Royal Malaysia Excise and Customs) managed to finish fourth with 4,261 pinfalls, scored by Halimah Arrifin, Sazali Yunus, Herman Shah, Abg Madzlan Abg Adenan and Edward Juit.

MEDIX earned more honours as Nurafidza scored a double in the women’s high game and high series with 233 pinfalls and 842 pinfalls respectively.

The men’s high game award went to Edward Juit who scored 254 pinfalls while Ramli Omar Baki of Kuching City North Commission won the high series with his score of 845 pinfalls.

Winners of all individual awards received free game vouchers and certificates of participation.

Thirty-six teams from government departments took part in the second edition of the competition organised by Megalanes Sarawak.
