MIRI: The Bumiputera business community here is fully behind Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and his newly-revamped cabinet.

According to Pelita Maslaut Sdn Bhd managing director Masni Amit, the experienced team would be able to serve the state well through many new development projects.

“‘Captain Abang Jo’ has stressed that Sarawak needs good Internet connectivity so that more business opportunities, including digital online businesses, e-commerce, can develop rural areas. With fast Internet access, it will give more business opportunities to the business community, including rural people,” he told The Borneo Post Thursday.

The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera (PBB) Pujut vice-chairman said Abang Johari’s recent trip to China helped to tap business opportunities would bring in more jobs opportunities and open up new businesses in the state.

“We support Abang Jo’s move to draw business into the state and create more business opportunities for the community in the long run,” said Masni.

He said the Chief Minister’s focus on the agriculture sector would also boost production and the income of rural folk.

For Miri Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Association Sarawak vice-president Talhah Mansor, Abang Johari is continuing the political struggle of championing the rights and needs of multiracial Sarawakians.

He said Abang Johari has never neglected Sarawakians’ interests and the state’s future development.

“Abang Jo is a straight forward leader and well liked not only among the Bumiputera but also the Chinese community in the state as he shows concern to all the people of Sarawak,” he said.
