LAHAD DATU: In conjunction with Mother’s Day celebration, pregnant women can now enjoy free food at Fook Yuen Restaurant here.

The free food is available for one week from 7am to 2pm everyday, beginning yesterday, and they only have to show their MyKad and Pregnancy card or record.

Lahad Datu assemblyman Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal described the programme as one way to appreciate women, especially pregnant women who suffered discomfort during their pregnancy.

Yusof said women, especially mothers are very special and need to be appreciated for their generous contribution, not only to individuals but also to the country.

He added that such efforts should be emulated by other companies so that the women will feel loved by the community.

Meanwhile, the Operation Director of Kumpulan Auliah, Bashir Ahmad Kassim said the programme aims to deliver the message to women that they are never forgotten and always appreciated by the community.

Bashir said during the programme, Fook Yuen will be preparing healthy meals for pregnant women and they would be free to choose the menu as pregnant women will have different tastes.

He hopes that through this programme, many pregnant women will get to eat what they craved, especially for those who could not afford to do so.
