KUCHING: Serian FA are calling for the support of local football fans as they face off against Gua Musang in the second leg of the Liga Bolasepak Rakyat (LBR) final at Stadium Negeri at 8.45pm tonight.

The match is being pitched as a match-up between Sarawak and Kelantan.

Officals for the match and from both sides called a press conference at a local hotel yesterday.

Serian FA are aiming to make it two straight titles for Sarawak after Kuching FA won the inaugural edition last year.

The team has the distinct advantage of home ground and beating Gua Musang 1-0 during the first leg in Kota Bharu last Saturday (May 13).

But Serian head coach Rozaimi Romainor is on guard against complacency, insisting that his team still has 90 more minutes to play before the winner is decided.

“We have won nothing yet. We are not taking anything for granted and I hope that the players will give it the best they can to win the match tomorrow,” he said.

On the other hand, Gua Musang head coach Ruhaled Abdul Hamid is clear about what his team needs to do to win.

“My team put on too much individual performances during the first leg. This time I hope they will play as a team as it is the only way that we can win,” he stressed.

The LBR is Malaysia’s fourth-tier tournament for amateur teams in the country.
