SDP Project Park players celebrate their victory with event guests.
BINTULU: SDP Project Park retained the Petronas Cup for the fourth consecutive year with an exciting 1-0 win over BPJ team at Bintulu Stadium last Sunday.
They were presented with the challenge trophy and RM3,500 cash prize by Samalaju assemblyman Majang Renggi during the closing ceremony of the 23rd edition of the tournament.
Also present were Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Pau Kiew Huai, Bintulu Football Association chairman Duke Janteng and Sarawak Football Association exco and committee members.
Majang commended the organisers for organising the annual tournament which attracted 15 teams.
“I also hope other statutory bodies, associations and the private sector can emulate Petronas’s initiative in organising football tournament as a platform for them to promote sporting activities in Bintulu,” he said.
The government, he added, believe that sports can further strengthen the unity and promote a healthy lifestyle among the people.
