State taekwondo delegation pay courtesy call on Chief Minister

KUCHING: The organising committee of the Sarawak Chief Minister Borneo Cup International Taekwondo (WTF) Championship 2017 paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister of Sarawak Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg recently.

According to a press statement by Sarawak Taekwondo Association (WTF), the delegation included its advisor Minister of Rural Electricity & Water Supply Datuk Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports Snowdan Lawan, its president Datuk Hamden Ahmad, deputy president cum tournament organising chairman Mohamad Salleh Sani, technical chairman Azizul Annuar Adenan, state chief instructor Master Tan Check Joon and committee member Wang Teck Zen.

They briefed the chief minister  on the progress of the upcoming international tournament which is supported by Taekwondo Malaysia (WTF). It will be held at Sarawak Indoor Stadium, Petra Jaya from July 15 to 16.  About 500 officials and top exponents from Korea, Vietnam, Brunei, China, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Libya, Australia, India, Taiwan, Iran, Macau, Nepal, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Pakistan and also state associations and premier clubs from East and West Malaysia are expected to take part.
