The MyKad will now be ready faster from the previous 10 working days to five working days for NRD offices in peninsula, while in Sabah and Sarawak, it has been shortened from 30 working days to seven.

“The project is aimed at faster issuance of the MyKad within a short period, with less cost, and having a big impact on the NRD’s dealings and customers,” he said in a statement here today.

He said during the three days of the project, the sub-hubs were able to issue the cards within seven days.

“Subsequently, it was extended throughout Sabah, to seven offices, named in the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Tawau, Sandakan, UTC Keningau, Kota Marudu, Papar, Sipitang and UTC Kota Kinabalu.
