KUCHING: Police arrested two individuals on suspicion of being illegal four-digit lottery ticket agents during separate raids here on Saturday.
The suspects, aged 28 and 32, were nabbed at a five-foot-way of a commercial centre at Mile 3 and another commercial centre at Jalan Tun Jugah following tip-offs received from the public regarding their illegal activity.
District police chief ACP Abang Ahmad Abang Julai, who confirmed the arrests, said the police team also seized RM197 in cash, mobile phones, stationery, and betting slips from the two agents.
The suspects are being investigated under the Common Gaming House Act 1953.
