PUTRAJAYA: A media company assistant manager has been remanded for six days to facilitate investigations into a bribery case involving RM70,000.

The remand order applied by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and effective today untill June 5 was issued by magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab.Rahman.

It was reported that the man aged 54 years was detained with RM20,000 cash at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur around 9.30pm on Tuesday.

He was believed to have solicited for RM70,000 from a VIP as payment to close an ongoing investigation into a corruption case.

The man allegedly claimed he had friends in MACC whom he could induce to settle the case. — Bernama
