LAWAS: A wooden transit house for GiatMara’s students and a recycled goods store near Sundar were completely destroyed in a fire on Wednesday.
Chief for Fire and Rescue Service Station (Bomba) for Lawas, Zaki Husin said a total of 11 firemen with four Bomba vehicles were deployed to the scene after receiving a call around 5.40pm.
“Our officer Awang Azizul who led the operation rushed to the scene some 30 km from the Lawas Bomba Station.
“There were no casualties and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
The Bomba team managed to control the fire and the operation ended around 7.14pm.
