Abang Johari presents donation to a recipient at Medan Niaga Satok Ramadan Bazaar.

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg declined to comment on the attack on SUPP Dudong branch deputy chairman Wong Ching Yong in Sibu on Thursday as he has not received the details and leaves the investigations to the police.

During the incident, Wong sustained second degree burns to 18 per cent of his body after being splashed with liquid believed to be acid.

The Chief Minister was asked on his view on the attack by reporters after he presented food and cash assistance to the needy from Satok and Tupong state constituencies here yesterday.

A total of 40 individuals received the aid courtesy of the Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (Fama), CCK Fresh Mart Sdn Bhd, Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak, Bernas Corporation Sdn Bhd, Agrobank and UM Colour Printing Company. Aside from that, 10 suraus in both areas also received donations.

Abang Johari also launched the Medan Niaga Satok Ramadan Bazaar and took a walk about at the bazaar. The bazaar has 85 stalls offering various food, drinks and local ‘kueh’ for breaking of fast.

He also stirred the ‘Bubur Pedas’ which was cooked at the venue and distributed to the public.

Fama state director Paza Dan and Tupong assemblyman Fazzruddin Abdul Rahman were among those present.
