MIRI: A futsal tournament for teams to vie for the Minister of Tourism, Art, Culture, Youth and Sport Trophy will be held on July 8 and 9.
“The organiser targets the participation of 60 teams and interested teams are urged to register before the closing date on July 7,” Miri Football Association chairman Mohamad Saif Jubaidi told The Borneo Post yesterday.
The tournament, which will take place at Miri Indoor Stadium, is open to players born in 1977 and above (under 20 years old).
It serves as a platform to select players to represent Miri at state level competitions.
Registration fee is RM150 for a men’s team and RM100 for women.
Top four men’s teams will received cash prizes of RM1,000, RM700 and RM400 (third and fourth).
For the women category, the corresponding cash prizes are RM700, RM500 and RM300.
A briefing and the draw will be held at the meeting room of Miri Indoor Stadium at 8pm on July 7.
