Banjarmasin Govt to immediately clean cigarette advertisement

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: The city government of Banjarmasin will soon clean up cigarette advertisement those are still crowded, said Mayor Ibn Sina, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

The Banjarmasin mayor here on Thursday said his government is committed to improving the Human Development Index (IPM), among others by making Banjarmasin a friendly city for children.

“From some point of assessment, Banjarmasin can actually become a children friendly city, it’s just there are many cigarette advertisements scattered in various corners of the city,” he said.

The ads, he said, make Banjarmasin City has not been able to get a predicate as a children friendly city and must be repaired again.

“So we will immediately do the cleaning of cigarette ads, both in downtown and hidden in the corners of the city,” he said.

Currently to fulfill the requirements as a friendly city, the municipal government continues to develop various public facilities, such as playground, city park, green open spaces and others.

In addition, creating a clean environment, some communities in this city also continue to move to help the government campaign as well as cleaning the river and the environment around the city.

Under the provisions of the Ministry of Child and Women Empowerment, a child-friendly districts or cities are those have a child-based development system by integrating a comprehensive and sustained commitment of government, community and business resources in policies, programs and activities to ensure Fulfillment of child rights and protection.
