ended both companies for their commitment in the development of bitumen facility in Sarawak through the JVA.

He reiterated that for Pan Borneo Project to be completed on time, it is crucial to have consistent supply of raw materials such as bitumen and in this regard, he hoped that Borneo Asphalt would strive to provide uninterrupted supply of bitumen that is of world-class quality. In the long run, such high-quality bitumen could contribute to sustainable roads with lower maintenance rate.

Meanwhile, Senari Synergy managing director Jefri Ahmad Tambi said as part of its vision, Borneo Asphalt  aspires not only to ensure  an uninterrupted supply of bitumen but more importantly, to also bring to Borneo the best-in-class bitumen and bitumen-related products to support the government’s initiative in accelerating the infrastructure development within the state.

He pointed out that the proposed facility would be developed as planned within the Senari Synergy Industrial Complex, and would comprise 4,000-metric tonne tank and other related infrastructures.

“This facility, once completed, will be able to facilitate uninterrupted and timely delivery of bitumen for the Pan Borneo Highway development.

“The overall investment is estimated at about RM30 million,” he said.

Jefri said the proposed facility to be constructed at Senari Synergy Industrial Complex should reach completion next year.

It is hoped to generate more economic activities through the procurement of contracts and creation of business opportunities to local businesses, as well as the opening of employment prospects.
