SHAH ALAM: Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd encourages the people of Selangor who desire to venture into business or seek employment to join the Rangsangan Kerjaya Rakyat Selangor (RKRS) career programme under its jurisdiction.
Perangsang Selangor CSR associate director Mohd Fauzi Mohd Ghazali said the RKRS programme was the company’s CSR to train people in the state to be more skilled so as to be competitive entrepreneurs and employees.
“The RKRS programme was created to expose entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurs to skills training, including soft skills training for the people of Selangor who have no income or have low income of less than RM1,500 per household.
“The programme can help improve social development and the living standards of the people and contribute to the state’s economic growth,” he told Bernama.
He said up to now, Perangsang Selangor had allocated RM8 million to make the programme a success since its implementation in 2011.
Through the free RKRS programme offered, interested individuals can have the opportunity to pursue skills courses in fields such as animal husbandry, mobile spas, clinical analysts, air conditioning repair services, building service contractors as well as sewing clothes for men and women.
“Since 2011, 2,626 participants have benefitted from the programme including youths, single mothers, retirees and people with disabilities,” said Mohd Fauzi.
Out of the total, 1,899 programme participants have managed to open their own businesses apart from working in certain sectors that fit the skills they learned in the RKRS programme.
Mohd Fauzi said the course was handled by trained supervisors appointed by Perangsang Selangor to guide participants to become skilled and successful entrepreneurs.
“We see every entrepreneur who has undergone the RKRS programme achieve an average income of up to RM4,000 per month, depending on the sectors they are in.”
