KUALA LUMPUR: The International Yoga Day celebration held at the Dataran Merdeka yesterday, has made it into the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for ‘Most Participation in a Yoga Session’.

MyPPP president Tan Sri M Kayveas said the four-hour  yoga session beginning 6.30am,  saw the participation of 3,035 people.

“Today, we managed to set our own record in the MBOR, (as) the previous record of participants was about 2,000 people. The record is not our priority but we gathered today, to carry out this healthy activity together.

“The International Yoga Day actually falls on June 21 every year,” he told reporters after participating in the event.

Also present at the event was Federal Territories Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Loga Bala Mohan.

Kayveas said yoga was a healthy activity which was suitable for all ages as it only required simple movements.
