MIRI: The Mobile Action Team (MAT) of United People’s Party (UPP) Pujut branch has served as an alternative platform for the people to channel their problems and requests on developments.

UPP Pujut chairman Bruce Chai said the party wanted to provide a convenient place for the people to channel their problems.

“With this mobile service, which operates every Saturday and Sunday on different locations, the people who need our assistance would not have to go to the party branch office as they can just come over to any of our mobile service counters during weekend at their convenience,” he told to The Borneo Post yesterday when asked on the party’s second stop of mobile service counter at Mdm Wee Café in Krokop 3 on Sunday.

Chai who is a former councillor of Miri City Council (MCC) looked forward to the success of the mobile service counter in addressing various issues affecting the people.

“We actually have identified 16 locations for us to conduct our mobile service counter. Through the service counter, we can provide consistent services to cover comprehensive issues such as voter’s registration, welfare matters and many others.”

The mobile service centre will be at Liang Heng Cold Drinks (Krokop 5 Market), followed by Sin Yakin Food Centre (Jee Foh 4), Yong Le Café (Boulevard Commercial Centre), Old House (Krokop 9), Miri Resort Food Court ( Bulatan Commercial), Pasar Besar Krokop 10, Restaurant Aseanika (Saberkas Commercial Centre), Bulatan Park, Jack Food Court (Piasau Utara 4), Pasar Nelayan (Piasau Utara 1A), Baidurie Café (Piasau Utara 4), Happy Dragon Café (Muria 6 Pujut 2B), Xian Jin Café (Pujut 7) and 59 Street Café (Sevenew Pujut 7).
