Student claims to have fallen from third floor

The student who claimed to have fallen from the third floor of a building being wheeled to the SGH.

KUCHING: A 19-year-old student claims to have fallen from the third floor of a four -storey building following an evening spent drinking with friends, yesterday.

However, the incident was later suspected to have never happened.

The student, studying at an institution located in MJC Batu Kawah, was sent back to his hostel by friends after the drinking session.

At  around 2am the student’s roommate heard him shouting for help from the ground floor, claiming that he had fallen from the third floor of the building.

In a panic, the roommate immediately contacted the victim’s sister, a nurse, to send him to Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.

He (victim) claimed he could not feel his legs causing paramedics to suspect that he was suffering from spine injuries due to the fall.

No other injuries were detected on the body.

Further checks on the victim, however, confirmed that he was unharmed.

Paramedics believed it was a hoax.

Separately, a couple was involved in a self accident at a roundabout in Petra Jaya around 7am yesterday.

The driver, a 43-year-old man rammed onto a roadside tree, and suffered serious injuries and was sent to SGH.
