LAHAD DATU: Two men and two women were killed in an accident involving a trailer and mini van at KM3 Jalan Lahad Datu-Tungku, Monday.
All four victims, comprising a mini van driver and his three passengers, were heading towards to Lahad Datu town from their houses at Kampung Desa Bajau while the trailer in the opposite direction when the incident occurred at about 5.45am.
District Fire and Rescue Chief Mohd Apandi Mahmood when met at the scene, said his department received an emergency call at 5.59am.
He said two fire engines and two utilities with 18 Fire and Rescue personnel were rushed to the scene.
He added that upon arrival at the scene found that four victims were trapped inside the vehicle and efforts to freed the victims were immediately launched.
The first victim was freed from the mini van at 9.05am while the last victim was taken out at 9.22am.
