Motorcyclist hospitalised after collision with car

The car-motorcycle accident in front of Emart Riam yesterday.

MIRI: A motorcyclist ended up in the hospital after he was involved in a collision with a car in front of Emart Riam yesterday morning.

The 27-year-old victim was heading towards Miri Bypass when the accident happened around 11am after a car exited a junction from Emart Riam.

The impact of the collision caused him to be flung several metres from his motorcycle.

Other motorists who witnessed the incident pulled over and helped to call for an ambulance.

The victim was then sent to Miri Hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition.

In a separate accident, two women in their 30s cheated death when the car they were travelling in slammed into a street light pole near Tamu Muhibbah, here around 6am yesterday.

While the driver was unscathed, her passenger suffered bodily injuries and was taken to Miri Hospital in an ambulance.

The car the women were in was badly damaged as a result of the incident.
