3 reporters injured after 4WD crashes into ravine

MIRI: A group of three reporters were injured when the car they were travelling in fell into a steep ravine at KM10 in Ulu Baram at about 1pm today.

The three reporters – Lee Cheng Choi of See Hua Group, Liong Chai Ling of Utusan Sarawak and Ivy Ching of Sin Chew Daily were among five reporters travelling to Bario to cover the 12th Pesta Nukenen scheduled to take place on July 28.

The other two reporters joining the trip were Jude Toyat (The Borneo Post) and Mohd Aliff Idzwan Abdullah (Utusan Borneo).

The two were travelling in another car.

As at press time (1.40pm), all three reporters managed to exit the overturned 4WD vehicle.

It is understood that the driver was also hurt.

All three reporters are now being treated at Samling clinic at KM10.

The 12th Pesta Nukenen is expected to be officiated by deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
