GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Front Party (PFP) yesterday urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the Penang DAP government for allegedly allowing the purchase of false recognition from a European organisation.

PFP advisor Datuk Patrick Ooi said the MACC should be allowed to investigate the state government’s bodies including the Penang Island City Council (MPPP) and the Seberang Perai Municipal Council for allegedly buying the false certification from the organisation.

He said Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng as the state’s top leader should issue a statement on the issue and clarify if either the MPPP or MPSP had paid money to the organisation.

“I hope the MACC will conduct a thorough investigation into this so that the truth will come out,” he told reporters outside the MACC building here yesterday.

Earlier, he lodged a report with the MACC on the awards. – Bernama
