KOTA KINABALU: Continuous rain for several hours yesterday resulted in a flash flood around the state capital and in Penampang.
Among the worst affected areas were Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 (QEH I), Dongonggon, Beverly Hills, Road Transport Department office in Bundusan, Manggatal, Lido, and several areas around the state capital.
Many cars were under a few feet of waters in Lido, Dongonggon and in Bundusan.
The flood also caused a massive traffic jam in several roads in Kota Kinabalu, Luyang, Manggatal and Penampang.
The rain, which started around 2.30pm, however eased off by 4pm, but nothing untoward incident was reported.
