KUCHING: Four individuals including a 57-year-old grandfather, were ordered to be remanded for seven days for allegedly raping their own relative, a 19-year-old girl, by the Samarahan magistrates’ court, yesterday.

The four, including the girl’s father, 42, and two of her uncles, aged 26 and 28, are being remanded by court registrar Dayang Roseline Awang Mahdini to facilitate police investigations.

All four were arrested at their house at Kampung Daha Seroban in Serian Division at 3.30pm last Friday.

The girl also claimed that her 14-year-old sister was also sexually assaulted by the four suspects since she was nine.

The case is being investigated under Section 376B of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to 30 years and whipping upon conviction.

In a separate case, a Kuching magistrates’ court extended for two days an order to remand six police personnel, aged between 25 and 53, who are allegedly involved in money extortion.
